Fokkers On The Move At Fantasy of Flight

Kermit Weeks, owner of Fantasy of Flight in Polk City, Florida, recently sold the airframe of his Fokker D.VIII reproduction back to its builder and original owner, Brian Coughlin, and saw the machine trucked to its new home over the weekend. Kermit kept the machine’s propeller, original instruments and original 160 hp Gnome rotary engine and revealed that he plans to have noted WW1 aircraft builder Fred Murrin construct a new and even more authentic D.VIII in which the components can be installed.

In recent years, Murrin has been busy building a Fokker D.VII for Kermit in the colors of the machine flown by Ernst Udet, and expects its arrival at Fantasy of Flight very shortly.
